cast of characters
IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE
ANDREW ADLER
Portrayed by: Francisco Lachowski
AGE: 20 (when introduced in Chapter 1)
ETHNICITY: white/Latino
BIO: For Andrew, it was challenging enough having a secret tickle philia; thanks to a mysterious contagion that drives those it infects to forcibly tickle others, he's suddenly catapulted into a world that not only sees his fantasies gone horribly awry, but one in which he must further conceal who he is.
TICKLISHNESS: 8/10
WEAK SPOT: Armpits
Andrew has always preferred tickling others, but he enjoys being tickled as well. His favorite spot to target? Feet (especially the hyper-ticklish feet of his best friend). His most ticklish spot? His armpits--the sensation of wriggling fingers on the sensitive flesh of his underarms absolutely gets him screaming.
HALEY ADLER
Portrayed by: Chloe Bennet
AGE: 24 (in 2009); first introduced at age 15 in flashback (Chapter 1)
ETHNICITY: white/Latina
BIO: Haley is Andrew's older sister. Fiercely protective of her sibling, Haley often found herself coming between a sensitive, confused Andrew and their strict, traditional parents. After a falling out with her father, Haley decided to move to San Francisco to live with her boyfriend; not long after, the outbreaks began.
SHAY BAKER
Portrayed by: Sophia Bush
AGE: 22 (when introduced in Chapter 1)
ETHNICITY: white
BIO: Shay is Andrew's girlfriend. Upon meeting him, she immediately took a liking to him. Assertive and confident, she was the catalyst behind their fast-paced relationship, and even now, she remains dominant in their dynamic. While she very much finds her boyfriend attractive, Andrew's naivete and inexperience sometimes frustrate her.
JAMES WHITTIER
Portrayed by: Alex Pettyfer
AGE: 21 (in 2009); first introduced at age 13 in flashback (Chapter 2)
ETHNICITY: white
BIO: James was Andrew's closest friend. Since their meeting in Junior High, the two were inseparable. Despite his "golden boy" appearance, James is humble, kind, and empathetic. Not long after the bizarre outbreaks began, he and Andrew were forced to part ways, and not under the best of circumstances. Andrew was devastated as a result.
TICKLISHNESS: 9/10
WEAK SPOT: Toes
Being the sole keeper of Andrew's secret meant that James often found himself the target of his best friend's tickle escapades; in fact, he himself started to see the fun that the tickling between them provided, dishing it out as well as taking it. He always found it amusing how much Andrew took a liking to (tickling) his feet.
JACOB CARTER
Portrayed by: Dylan Patton
AGE: 18 (when introduced in Chapter 2)
ETHNICITY: white
BIO: Orphaned during the onset of the epidemic, Jake was quickly forced to figure out how to survive the ticklepocalypse unfolding around him. Perceptive and innovative, his goal is to better understand the Infected (or "gargs"). When he witnesses Andrew being attacked by his newly-turned girlfriend, he is quick to step forward and rescue him.
TICKLISHNESS: 8/10
WEAK SPOT: Armpits
Jake has been carefully studying how the Infected respond to laughter. He actually tricks and lures them using recordings of his own laugh. How though, one might wonder, does he manage to record a laugh that sounds so authentic?
JULIANA RAMIREZ
Portrayed by: Natalie Martinez
AGE: 25 (in 2009)
ETHNICITY: Latina
BIO: Juliana, or "Jules" as she prefers, works alongside her brother Eric as a soldier for GUARD--the Gargalite United Armed Research Division--which was founded by the government as a means to help combat the spread of the mysterious contagion ravaging the West Coast. She has a heart to help others, but merciless when it comes to the Infected.
ERIC RAMIREZ
Portrayed by: Lorenzo Henrie
AGE: 23 (in 2009)
ETHNICITY: Latino
BIO: Eric is Juliana's younger brother, the son of two medical researchers recently appointed to the GUARD outpost in Anaheim. He is more reserved than his sister, but can be quick to anger, especially when it comes to defending his family. He is an athlete at heart and knows his way around a firearm.
TICKLISHNESS: 9/10
WEAK SPOT: Thighs
Despite his stoic demeanor and machismo attitude, Eric secretly crumbles quickly at the hands of a good tickler. This is perhaps the reason why he is so aggressive and hateful towards the Infected. He is deeply passionate about putting an end to the strange epidemic overtaking the West Coast.
